As your business grows and you have more than one or two trucks out in the field, fleet management can become an issue. All these questions (and more!) may come up:

  • How much am I spending on fuel?
  • When was the last oil change?
  • How much gas is in the tank?
  • Where are all my vehicles?

The good news is that there are a number of different fleet tracking platforms out there that can help you stay on top of maintaining your vehicles and tracking your fleet. For my other business, DC Mosquito Squad, we use Teletrac. For larger fleets it’s a good option, but it’s a little more complex. We have to have someone come out and install the device in our trucks. Then, if we sell the truck, they have to come out again to uninstall it.

For smaller fleets (1-10 vehicles), we recommend Zubie. Installing Zubie is easy. You simply plug this little device into the data port underneath the steering column and you’re ready to go! For less than a couple hundred bucks a year, you can track your entire fleet.

There are so many great fleet tracking options out there, so if you’re having trouble with fleet management, we encourage you to check them out! It could be very helpful for you and your business.
