At Sterling Lighting, we want to come alongside those in the industry who are designing and installing amazing lighting systems and help them become more successful.

In order to accomplish this, we knew we had to offer a product line that is very durable, very reliable, and something that our people can put in the ground and count on to last and perform better than anything else on the market.

The second thing we looked at was our distribution model. As I got deeper into the manufacturing side of this business, I saw that for many manufacturers, the installer and designer were not the end customer. The end customer was the distributors. I looked at that and said, “That’s off balance.” The manufacturers shouldn’t have more allegiance to the distributors than they do to their own people who are actually installing the lighting systems.

Keeping it Simple

When you look through our catalogs, you may see something that looks a lot different than just about anything else you see out there, and that’s a very simple product line.

What I’ve learned from designing and installing thousands upon thousands of systems is keep is simple. Keep your choices to your customers simple and keep the installation simple. We don’t offer seventeen different styles of uplights. We offer one up light that can do seventeen different things.

So we try to keep our product line simple which helps in running the business of keeping inventory low, keeping the proper equipment in the trucks, and keeping service calls simple and easy. So if a service call were to happen, it’s very easy to take care of.

We also design our fixtures with the end users in mind. So everything we design is basically plug and play. If there’s ever an issue–which is very rare–or the product were to prematurely fail, all you have to do is unplug one component and put a new component in. We wanted that to be a very quick process.

Our first goal is zero service calls. But our second goal is—if we ever do have one—we’re moving very quickly and we’re able to take care of them right away, right on the spot.

Thank you for your business. We look forward to working with you, and we look forward to continue to offer you more services, more educational platforms, and more resources to help you grow your business.
