Returns and Exchanges

In the event of a mistake on an order that is determined to be the fault of Sterling Lighting (example: incorrect item shipped or incorrect quantity), Sterling Lighting will cover the shipping cost to exchange the item.

In the event the buyer makes a mistake on an order, the buyer is responsible for the shipping cost both ways which will be deducted from the refund. We do not refund the original shipping and handling that you paid on the order. A restocking fee of 10% will also be applied on items returned that are in new condition and resellable. All returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Items returned without an RMA will be refused.

New Items

Items returned in new condition, that have not been installed and are in the original packaging and acceptable to be resold (this determination is made by Sterling Lighting), can be returned for a refund up to 30 days after the original purchase date.  

Used Items

Used items can only be returned in the case of a warranty claim that is consistent with the seller’s or manufacturer's warranty policy. Defective items that need to be repaired or exchanged need an RMA. Shipping to and from the buyer will be covered by the seller. Upon receipt of a claimed defective item, a determination will be made by Seller if the used returned item is defective and covered by warranty. If the seller determines that the item suffers from a manufacturing defect, a new or repaired item will be returned to the buyer at the seller's discretion. In the event the seller determines that the used item does not fall under warranty as it does not meet warranty and exclusion criteria, buyers can choose to pay shipping back or elect to have Seller dispose of the item. 

If a buyer wishes to have replacement parts shipped immediately, buyer can elect to purchase parts and Seller will refund the purchase once the RMA is received, reviewed and approved.  

Policies

  • It is the responsibility of the buyer to check their order for missing or broken items, buyer has 7 days from the date of Receipt to notify Sterling Lighting of missing, damaged or incorrect items in the shipment.
  • You have 30 days from the date of purchase to initiate a return/exchange for unused, resellable, new condition products for a full refund less shipping charges.
  • Reasons for Return
    • Arrived Damaged- if you have a product that arrived damaged you have 7 days from the date of receipt to initiate an return/exchange..
    • Doesn’t work or defective- should an item not work out of the box return for an exchange.
    • Wrong Item Sent- If you receive the wrong item shipped by Sterling lighting, you have 7 days to notify Sterling Lighting and initiate an exchange and 30 days from date of purchase to start a return.
    • Missing parts or pieces- initiate a claim in our portal to have the replacement part sent to you.
    • Ordered by mistake- you have 30 days to return an order by mistake, must be returned in new condition for a refund less shipping charges.

Initiate a Return

All returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Shipments without an RMA number will be refused.

  1. Visit our Sterling Lighting Returns Portal
  2. Follow the prompts and enter your order number and account email
  3. Select the items eligible for return or repair
  4. Add pictures and description
  5. Select return shipping method
  6. Click "Submit" and you will receive an RMA # and shipment label for your return
